Hope Admist a Culture of Death

On this day 44 years ago, the Supreme Court legalized abortion in our country. What a tragic, tragic day. Since then, an unthinkable number of lives have been lost.

But there is hope. The numbers are decreasing. Abortion rates are at their lowest since 1974.

“U.S. Abortion Rate Continues to Decline, Hits Historic Low” headlines an article released this week by the Guttmacher Institute. This announcement has reverberated through several news sources throughout the country. We celebrate this news!

Each life saved is a victory.

But we must still fight for those who fall victim to the culture of death. We must still hold the hand of the woman distraught by an unplanned pregnancy who feels she cannot be a mother. We must still speak words of life and of truth to these women who struggle to see the preciousness of the life within them.

Because of you, we open our doors each morning to be that beacon of hope to these women in need. Because of you, we continue to promote a culture of life in our nation.

“From the moment of conception, the life of every human being is to be respected in an absolute way because man is the only creature on earth that God has ‘wished for himself’ and the spiritual soul of each man is immediately created by God; his whole being bears the image of the Creator. Human life is sacred because from its beginning it involves the creative action of God and it remains forever in a special relationship with the Creator, who is its sole end.”
